Subteams
Our team is organized into two separate subteams, Software and Mechatronics
Software
The software subteam is led by Derek Peng, a rising Junior at Troy High School. This subteam is responsible for developing the code the powers our AUV. Specific focuses of the software subteam in the 2022-2023 school year have been vision, navigation, and pinger localization. This includes programming in ROS and using behavior trees to ensure Sea++ successfully accomplishes each task.
The mechatronics team is led by Thomas Nguyen-Ta, a rising Senior at Troy High School. Instead of having separate electrical and mechanical subteams, we decided to combine both into a mechatronics team, which is responsible for all physical components of the AUV. In the 2022 - 2023 school year, the mechatronics subteam has continued the development of Sea++, focusing on integrating sensors, waterproofing electronics, and assembling the frame.
