Meet Sea++, our first submarine
Sea++
After tens of hours of teamwork, our first operational AUV, Sea++, is ready to dive into the depths of TRANSDEC for the Robosub 2023 competition Whirlpool X-Treme. Powered by ROS1 Melodic and Ubuntu 18.04, our team learned countless lessons about the difficulties of building not only an underwater robot, but an autonomous one.
Timeline
October 2019: Team was formed
January 2021: Assembly of frame began
November 2022: First iteration of Sea++ assembled
December 2022: First water test of Sea++ (Remote controlled)
January 2023: Development of autonomous software began
June 2023: Finalization of competition materials
